Sister Roberta Mulcahy, SSJ, is a Sister of St. Joseph of Springfield, MA. Sister’s ministries included teaching, Elementary School administration, Hispanic ministry for the Diocese of Springfield, MA, Congregational vocation director, Justice & Peace coordinator, and ecology advocate for and leadership for the SSJs. Sister has an energetic extroverted personality, committed to the Congregational charism and mission of unity with a dedication towards the principles of Catholic Social Justice. She has been a Sister of St. Joseph for 62 years. Sister Roberta enjoys laughter, music, dancing, reading and volunteering with community groups involved in restorative justice , and employment training opportunities, among others.

About Andrew Mercado - Julia Engel

Andrew Mercado is a sophomore majoring in HealthCare Management and Sociology at the College of Our Lady of the Elms in Chicopee, MA. Andrew is an active volunteer with the Office of Campus Ministry. Andrew has also participated in various service trips to San Jose, California and Concordia, Kansas. Andrew is also a member of the Justice and Peace Committee of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Springfield, MA. Andrew also serves as a volunteer with Youth Ministry at a local parish. Future aspirations include attending graduate school for a degree in higher education administration and a possible degree in theology. Julia Engel is a sophomore nursing student at Elms College. She was born and raised in Waterford, CT. Her career goals include working as a missionary nurse in various countries throughout the world. She is passionate about her studies and service to the community. She is the Vice president of her class, and tries to stay involved in campus ministry and the Elms community as much as possible. During the Spring of 2015 they were paired with Sister Roberta Mulcahy, SSJ; a Sister of St. Joseph of Springfield.
