Education has been a passion for Sister Susie since she was young. She attended Catholic school for the duration of her childhood spanning through her teenage years. She went on to attend both Caldwell University and Seton Hall University, where she obtained multiple degrees. She has had a significant impact at all the schools where she taught, schools located in Alabama, New Jersey, and the Bahamas.
If she had not been a Dominican Sister, Sister Susie would not have had those experiences.
When I was talking to Sister Susie about where she taught, she told me that Queen Latifah was in one of her eighth grade forensic classes. I thought that was the coolest thing ever, considering that I am in the process of becoming a teacher and teaching a future celebrity could happen to me in the future.
Sister Susie also has had a passion for helping babies with AIDS in Newark. She has dedicated her life to the service of others, and it truly goes to show what kind of person she is. She is one of the most loving, caring, compassionate individuals I have ever met . She has found a way to make me feel so welcome as a part of her family, just as I feel like she has become a part of my family.
